The cost to participate on the Preserve Swim Team is $160 per child for homeowners within the Preserve neighborhood. For the 2010 season the Preserve Board of Directors has determined that a limited number of outside participants, on a space available basis, may also participate at the same rate plus an additional fee of $50 per family. The entire registration fee goes for the benefit of the swim team. No parent representative or volunteer other than coaching staff receives any payment for any services, other than reimbursement for swim team costs which have been pre-approved by the parent rep or volunteer coordinator.

In order to participate in either swim team practice or swim team meets, every child must have a liability release waiver on file with RMSL.

Junior Piranhas (JPs)

If your little swimmer is not ready for the full team practice and meets yet, no problem! The Junior Piranhas training ground operates in shallow water! The JP program exists to provide a solid base of swim instruction for neighborhood children who want to be a part of the swim team, but lack sufficient ability to swim a full length of the pool or swim at all. Junior Piranhas is primarily limited to children 3 to 6 years of age, though some exceptions are made.  It is the hope of the coaching staff that many JPs can be converted to the swim team by the end of the season!

The four week Junior Piranhas program runs Monday through Thursday, beginning Wednesday, June 9, 2010 and ending on Thursday, July 12, 2010. Three, half-hour, class times are offered: 9:30 am, 10:00 am and 10:30 am. Junior Piranhas are encouraged and welcome to join the swim team for Fun Fridays, as long as they have parent supervision.

Space in limited for JP swimmers since class size is restricted to 4 students per class. The cost is $160 per swimmer. There are no swim meet volunteer requirements for JP parents.
